◇ Solo ATC tower trainer

the picture.

Run a live traffic session — solo. AI pilots read back out loud, comply, and mess up. Clearance, Ground, Tower: it's all yours, and it can go wrong.

SCROLL
01 / SEQUENCE The whole flow, one controller

From the gate to the fix — you work every hand-off.

Tick the positions you want. An auto-controller quietly runs the rest, so you can drill just Tower, or hold the whole strip. Real, separate FAA frequencies — you only hear the stations you're working.

01 · DELIVERY

Clearance

Liners request by PDC datalink; issue the CRAFT clearance, validate the squawk, hand off to Ground.

CD 125.9
02 · GROUND

Ground

Pushback, taxi via the real network, hold short of active runways — crossings detected geometrically.

GND 123.9
03 · TOWER

Tower

Line up and wait, wind check, cleared for takeoff, sequence the arrivals, call the go-arounds.

TWR 118.3
04 · DEPARTURE

Airborne

Climb on the SID, request frequency change, "contact departure" — and the strip is clear.

DEP 119.6
02 / VOICES AI pilots on frequency

They read back out loud — and about 1 in 8 gets it wrong.

Every pilot collationates with a different voice, rate and pitch through the browser's built-in speech — zero cost, zero API key. Around 12% of readbacks are wrong: catch the bad squawk or runway and correct it with "negative" before it bites you at the debrief. Ignore a call and they'll call again — "how do you read?"

"standby" parks any call "continue" holds the approach
◈ Frequency — 118.300 TWR● REC
03 / IFR Real geometry, real trajectories

Not VFR. Arrivals fly a base-to-final intercept — not planted on the localizer.

This isn't a pattern game. Arrivals descend off a STAR entry, turn base, and intercept the approach course — established straight-in before they check in at 12 miles. Departures climb runway heading, then turn onto the SID. Every threshold, true heading and length comes from public FAA records.

KSAN
San Diego Intl
RWY 09/27 · single
One strip for everyone. Departures and arrivals share 27 — you build every gap yourself.
KAUS
Austin-Bergstrom
RWY 18L·18R · parallels
Two parallels running at once, ~65/35 split — keep both flows moving without a tie-up.
XING
KBOI
Boise Air Terminal
RWY 10·28 · parallels
Taxi to 28L must cross the active 10L/28R — the aircraft holds short and calls for the crossing.
XING
KSAT
San Antonio Intl
13R/31L × 04/22 · intersecting
The RWY 04 flow forces a runway crossing on every taxi. Never clear one onto an occupied runway.
04 / PRESSURE It can go wrong

The picture degrades on its own. Keep it, or lose it.

Conflicts, incursions and human error aren't scripted set-pieces — they emerge from live traffic. Spot them on the scope and fix them in time.

TAXI · WRONG TURNAn aircraft takes the wrong taxiway without saying so. Catch it on the radar and re-issue the taxi — in time is a bonus, too late and it's a call against you.Warn
RWY · INCURSIONTakeoff clearance with traffic on short final, same runway. Crossing an occupied runway. The system sees it.Critical
ARR · MISSED EXITA landing rollout misses its exit and holds the runway longer than you planned. Re-sequence the departure behind it.Warn
ARR · MEDICALAn arrival declares a medical emergency and requests priority. Send it around and it's a serious fault.Critical
RADIO · STUCK MICA blocked frequency ~8 seconds — a stuck carrier. Your transmissions don't get through. Wait it out.Warn
GO-AROUND · AUTONo landing clearance or an occupied runway and the aircraft goes around, rejoins left traffic, and calls "turning final."Recovered
05 / DEPTH Built like the real thing

Details a controller notices.

Write your own ATIS

Airfield, letter, wind, visibility, altimeter, runways, closing line — it's scored, and you can re-publish the next letter mid-session.

PDC datalink

ACARS-style pre-departure clearances with editable, graded fields. Bad squawk rejected, stale ATIS penalised, no send in ~100s and the pilot calls "negative PDC".

Real, separate frequencies

DEL / GND / TWR / DEP from FAA data. Send someone to the wrong frequency on a "contact" and the pilot refuses it — noted.

Live METAR → config

Pulls real weather (free, no key) and auto-picks the runway configuration from the wind. Override it if you disagree.

Realistic rollouts

Rollout distance by type — a CRJ9 clears earlier than a B38M — vacating at the first suitable exit with adaptive braking.

Squelch & scope

Static burst and click on every transmission, phosphor trails, leader lines, wheel zoom and pan. It feels like the client.

06 / EXAM PREP Seeded scenarios

Five presets. A fixed, repeatable trap.

A seeded RNG freezes the airport, weather, traffic and pitfalls into a reproducible run, with numbered objectives graded PASS / FAIL at the debrief and an automatic time limit. Every debrief is saved — your last 8 sessions, rolling average, best grade and scenario win-rate live on the home screen.

07 / GRADED Session debrief

Every instruction is scored, the moment you send it.

Missing phraseology is flagged live under the input bar. At the end: one letter grade — phraseology 40%, operations 50%, ATIS 10% — your worst instructions quoted verbatim, and a time-stamped event log. No mystery marks.
